Hi! I’m Jamie Woodman, an Information Technology student at Capella University with a growing passion for artificial intelligence and lifelong learning. I hold a Google IT Support Certificate and am currently preparing for the CompTIA A+ certification. I’ve always been fascinated by technology—even when I didn’t believe I was “tech-savvy” enough to belong in the field. Since beginning my academic journey, I’ve discovered just how much I can learn—and how much I enjoy it. I was recently honored to be accepted into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), which has inspired me to keep developing both as a leader and a learner. Learning to Be Patient with Myself on This Journey

One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn in IT—and in life—is patience.

When you’re working toward a degree, certifications, and career change, it’s tempting to want instant results. You want the knowledge now. The skills now. The job now. But the reality is:
real growth takes time.

There were moments when I felt like I wasn’t moving fast enough, like everyone else was ahead of me. But looking back, I see how far I’ve actually come—one study session, one project, one small win at a time.

What I’m Reminding Myself:

  • ⏳ Mastery doesn’t happen overnight – It’s built through repetition
  • 🌱 Slow progress is still progress – Even 1% better each day adds up
  • 🧠 Every step prepares me for the next – Even the frustrating ones
  • 💡 Patience is part of the process – It’s how you stay consistent

I may still have certifications to earn and goals to reach, but I know I’ll get there—because I’m putting in the work, day by day.
